When the glass is shown at her feet, she is wearing socks
Plot
After witnessing a bizarre and traumatic incident involving a patient, a psychiatrist becomes increasingly convinced that she is being threatened by a strange entity. A few days before the film’s September 30, 2022 release, the actors in the film appeared at several baseball games, sitting behind home plate, motionless and smiling as they stared at the camera, unmoving despite the understandably worried fans in the audience, while wearing Smile T-shirts. Another soon appeared in the background with the crowd during the Today show. At approximately the 31-minute mark, Rose breaks a glass as her alarm goes off. A few seconds later, as she checks the door, she is wearing lace-up shoes.

Based on what happens later at a party, there are several continuity issues that may not be “errors” but may in fact be deliberate to show “breaks” in Rose’s consciousness/sanity. Why are you doing this to me? The Monstrosity: Because your mind is so inviting.. Paramount’s opening and closing logos feature a curved smile-shaped line at the base of the mountain. One of the few horror films that managed to surprise me this year. When the trailer came out, I thought it was going to be another idiotic and incompetent mess. From the beginning, everything from the direction, the performances to the cinematography and sound design were absolutely stunning. How a low budget managed to achieve this feat was beyond me, but the film was simply mesmerizing to watch. The horror was quite effective with jump scares and terrifying moments, although some were cheap but not too disturbing.
Smile handled it decently, but don’t expect Oscar-worthy exposition
They managed to build up the tension very well and never intended to let it down until the end. The plot was simple enough to tie all the relevant characters together so that I cared about them, although some might complain that 90% of the characters were just filler and I can agree with that. However, the protagonist was good enough to carry the entire show. One thing that might not appeal to most audiences was the use of mental illness. And no, it wasn’t exactly the main theme so try not to give up halfway because there would be surprises in the last act of the film.
This wasn’t just some Annabelle or Insidious sequels, but something more
I would say it was worth it for horror fans like me.
