Plot
It follows Madeline Matlock as she returns to work at a prestigious law firm, where she uses her cunning tactics to win cases and uncover wrongdoing. A gender-flipped take on the original 1986 TV series of the same name, Matlock (1986), starring Andy Griffith as criminal defense attorney Ben Matlock.

For legal reasons they had to award Dean Hargrove “based on the Matlock series”; credit… For Matlock to be hired by a New York law firm, they would have to verify the status of her law license through one of three official mechanisms, each carefully managed by the state.
Remake of Matlock (1986)
This new series has a lot of potential with a long primary story. Kathy Bates’ character is looking for the lawyer who contributed to her daughter’s death.

The couple is in the process of divorcing and she has quietly started seeing someone else at the company. Batte’s character says early on how she comes up with so much information that helps cases, it’s just that most people don’t even notice.
