Britain allowed filming in the Secretary of State’s office, an honor rarely bestowed upon a film or film production, especially an American one
Plot
In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler is offered a high-profile job she’s not suited for, with tectonic consequences for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced both the American and British governments to allow them to use real-life locations as filming locations for the series, including the newly opened American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.

The only location unavailable for filming was Winfield House, the real-life residence of the American ambassador. Although accurately described as occupying the largest residential estate (11 acres) in London next to Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes.

The series follows a diplomat (Keri Russell) who gets a new job as ambassador to the United Kingdom after an international crisis involving an aircraft carrier is closed. She also has to deal with her husband (Rufus Sewell), already a political star, and their troubled marriage.
I can’t wait to watch it and see how the series develops
I loved this series so much that I watched all eight episodes in one weekend. It’s doing so well and has been so well received that it’s already been renewed for another season early.
