For starters, it’s a good, solid serial killer show
Plot
A series adaptation of James Patterson’s novel about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which was a box office smash and forced Lionsgate to scrap its planned sequel Double Cross.
So I’ve got that out of the way
But I think it’s Britain’s poor cousin Luther with Idris Elba. Both he and Cross are considered to have extraordinary powers of psychological analysis.
With Cross, you don’t
With Luther, you get that. Only twice in eight episodes does he do all the “Spideysense” work and provide analysis that others simply don’t see.
And the last point is Iasiah Mustafa
Then there’s the weak performances of some of the lead actors. Their scenes just don’t reflect the great acting of the main characters.
Not bad performance, but I think Luther does it better
In this show he is a carbon copy of Andy Farrell, the coach of the Irish rugby team. One is a black guy, the other is white, but the resemblance of the boy is uncanny!
