Running away from a neglectful family, 13-year-old Rita is placed in an oppressive state orphanage. Rita’s arrival brings a ray of hope to the girls who live there, who share a prophecy that an angel will appear to set them free. Encouraged by each other, the girls plan an escape to demand their freedom and denounce the orphanage’s aggression.
