Plot
An agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi fall in love; find out whether their relationship will survive, despite their completely different lives and interfering families. The original name is “Shiksa”, which is also the last word spoken in the first episode. I really like this series, it takes me back to my bachelor and dating days and puts a smile on my face. It touches on very relatable and relevant topics (dating and dating culture) in such a realistic way at the same time, and does it in a refreshingly seamless way that dating should be, honest dialogue throughout, no games. Their chemistry is so sweet (of course, it helps that they’re both seasoned, accomplished actors in their own right), and it makes for great times that bring back all those nostalgic feelings. Kristen Bell, I’ve been following her since I watched Veronica Mars in my youth. And Adam Brody, my husband, looked at the TV and said: he hasn’t changed since “Lonely Hearts”, he’s right.
